HG loves when older friends visit. Miss H (two months older) and Mr. G (eleven years older) recently came to the north coast for some cool, clean air.
Rocky Mountain National Park is beautiful in September. Uncle J, who lives in Denver, drove us up Fall River Road to the tundra, where we had spectactular views of all the mountains, glaciers, and wildlife. We hiked around Sprague Lake with my parents and a cute little blue-wing teal duck. Listening to the elk bugle and watching their rutting activities was fascinating. HG liked the choke cherries and the chipmunks.
It doesn't take much to entertain a two year old. Here's HG in his ball bucket with some warm water and then with two of his favorite things - a train track and a book. Joy.
We got to take a ride on the Samoa Speeder, a real clickety-clack train that runs along the bay in the fall to raise money for a historical preservation society.
