Mommy, It's Fall?

We met up with some friends at the organic pumpkin patch; some of the grown-ups and all of the kids dressed up. HG decided he wanted to be Bo Obama, the first family's Portuguese Water Dog; and he decided I would be a cat and his papa would be a mouse. Voila. I had to include this photo of HG on one of his new toys - his papa is an expert at finding recycled toys, clothes, and mini-trampolines at the various thrift stores around town. I encourage HG to get out his ya-ya's by jumping.

We celebrated PC's 2nd birthday at the park. The boys climbed trees (with help from mama's) and found some wooly bear caterpillars chewing on alder leaves.

HG is good at many things: solving puzzles, banging on drums, enjoying life, and growing. Sometimes he even gets to choose his own utensils. (Notice the new blinds on the front window - they open from the top or bottom; thanks for the inspiration KK)

The two's have been terrific and challenging. HG is not inclined to follow verbal directions such as "Come back here; don't run into the street!" and "Leave the dog's water bowl alone." He now has a "black bag" for toys that are used inappropriately, and he's apologized more than once for "hugging" a friend to the ground. However, I still thank the universe everyday for the opportunity to be his mama. He's very loving, enjoys family hugs, and delights in the wonders of nature. It's always fun to observe what he will discover and learn next.
