May Days

Our home schooling year is drawing to a close; and we're almost through the alphabet. Can you find the extra W words in the photo above? Hint; one rhymes with schmink. Below are our chicks; all fifteen of them are now roosting on the high roost and providing us with good entertainment.
Humboldt's lastest greatest passion: digging for treasure. Today he said his life goal is to find a treasure chest filled with riches. We did uncover a geo-caching treasure on one quest in the forest.
Our addition/remodel project is in its third week. Here's Mark, the builder, on Day One. We're putting new windows and doors on the front and insulation in the walls.
Humboldt had a hard time staying out of the way during the digging. Here's a shot of Fred and Mark preparing the yard for the new addition. After the digging, pipes were laid and concrete was poured.  So far so good.

Did you guess the other W words? Wheatgrass seeds were planted in an egg carton. The chicks loved the wheatgrass.
May is such a lovely month to celebrate a halfy (5 1/2) birthday. Here's Humboldt with a few friends after some whiffle ball batting practice in the park...after organic ice cream at The Scoop of course.
Humboldt and I cheered the Giants on to a victory at ATT Park, which is why we missed observing the concrete being poured. Those are the Redbirds in the visitors dugout on the first base line. On the big screen and at bat is Melky Cabrera - #3 batting average in the NL; followed closely by Rafael Furcal. Lisa Stanton is partial owner of some sweet season tickets behind home plate in San Francisco and is hoping to catch a foul ball soon. Before the game, Humboldt rode down both slides in the Coke bottle.
And lastly, just a nice photo of Chutney and Rosebud enjoying the fireside.
