Dog Days

Well, really it doesn't get hot around here in August, but it might reach 70 degrees once or twice. On one sunny day, Humboldt helped Fred harvest a LOT of potatoes. Unfortunately, Bo doesn't like to eat them (not french fries or potato pancakes or mashies...), but we grown-ups do!
My parents visited this month and probably read dozens of books to Bo. He was so happy to get grandparent love and attention. We visited the big redwood trees and took a boat ride on the bay. Luckily, we saw two harbor porpoises (yes, that's how we dress for summertime boat rides).

The dogs joined us for a nice long walk to the mouth of the Mad River. My parents actually appreciated the cool weather, as there were many 100+ degree days in Missouri this year. Below is an action shot of Humboldt tossing a bocce ball. He's still throwing righty and batting lefty and getting better at playing catch and tennis and soccer. Hope to post again around fall equinox!
